Love International Festival reveals more artists to grace the mercurial and beatific Croatian odyssey that is Tisno this summer.
The Love International Festival, now entering it’s third year, will return to the idyllic Adriatic coastline welcoming a gathering of 2,500 music and adventure lovers for a very intimate gathering in the picture postcard town of Tisno. The festival has had a hugely successful infancy, largely due to it embracing a philosophy fashioned around bringing some of the world’s best DJs, producers, label collectives and brands to Croatia; opting for quality over quantity.
New artists being added to the already flawless lineup is three spectacular debutantes. First up, Four Tet, known to be one of the most experiemental-yet largely successful electronic musicians of the past two decades. Floating Points will also join Hebden in the basking Croatian sun this June; bringing his unique flavour of mixing Jazz, soul, break-beat right through to techno and house – a true champion selector. The final of three debuts is made up by Dutch DJ and one of 2017’s hottest properties, Hunee. When we speak about DJ’s who take crowds on real journeys, then it’s rare to not hear the name Hunee mentioned. An artist who’s performed at some of the most sought-after festivals and events and delivering his soulful house and killer disco, he’ll be an unmissable act at the festival. Bicep will also be at the festival and the duo will certainly not be there to make up the numbers with them being regarded as two of the finest DJs and producers of this generation.
Also announced on the bill is the Love International regular Midland, an artist who speaks volumes in not only his revered sets but also his finely tuned productions. The three musketeers of feel-good house and disco, Gerd Janson, Young Marco and Horse Meat Disco will all descend on the festival, spreading energy and joy at the festival. Life and Death founder and Love International debutant DJ Tennis is next, the Italian icon working with Tale of Us and Mind Against and he is an esteemed label A+R, producer and DJ. Palms Trax makes a very welcome return after last summer’s scintillating boat party, the Berlin-based artist a regular at Panorama Bar, Concrete and De School.
Crazy P Soundsystem are perennial fixtures at the festival and bring a lovely touch of gravitas and warmth; occasional regulars Paranoid London check in with a DJ set; and revered Dutch selector Job Jobse played Trouw’s last ever set, a huge honour bestowed on the feel-good young spinner bringing hands-in-the-air energy to the Adriatic. Two inspired duos also touch down – disco deviants Rub and Tug weave across Italo to acid via post-funk rarities, and Electric Chair’s The Unabombers, much-loved and long-seasoned Tisno heads, return to Love International.
The festival’s co-founder, Tom Paine, explains “We are feeling really happy with the lineup for 2018 which features many brilliant debuts and some very welcome friends and family returning. Our third year is going to be very special indeed for everyone and we can’t wait for the summer!”
The latest wave of artists further illuminates the festival’s broad musical scope and takes in an even wider range of sounds and styles, from sunshine reggae and seductive soul to rare funk, cosmic disco and all-out 4/4. We’re incredibly excited to hear more about the festivals plans and will be sure to bring you the latest news coming out of Love International HQ!
