Truesoul Records bolsters its Swedish contingent by welcoming the Berlin-based La Fleur to the imprint, presenting her two-track ‘Exhaust’ EP
The year of 2017 was the best yet for Stockholm-born La Fleur, seeing her emerge as one of the most sought-after newcomers in house and techno. As well as managing proceedings at her Power Plant label, La Fleur is also a firmly-grounded resident at the Berlin club, Watergate. The summer season in Ibiza saw her become a strong addition to Hot Since 82’s vibrant Labyrinth parties and the EP follows up her amazing 90-minute set at Pacha alongside fellow Swedes’ Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg.
It perhaps shouldn’t be surprising to you that La Fleur was included in Mixmag’s top 20 breakthrough artists of 2017; now, with the foundations laid, the Swedish producer debuts on Drumcode’s sister imprint, Truesoul Records with two dynamic dance floor weapons. ‘Fish Truck’ is a concoction of vast synth lines, shuffling percussion and an strongly rooted driving bassline. A lot of complexities give the track a distinctive, powerful and all round harmonious aura to it.
‘Exhaust’ provides a different angle by switching up the atmosphere with the inclusion of an intense Eckhart Tolle vocal; this, coupled with murky ambiences and melancholic techno beats, concludes that this tune is an absolute must for peak-time inclusion.
