Harrison BDP debuts on Music Is Love Records becoming the labels’ 17th Vinyl release with an immersive EP titled ‘Time Is Of The Essence’
The Manchester-based Music is Love label. run by Oli Furness, is one that’s no stranger to welcoming new artists to the label and on this occasion it see’s the flying Harrison BDP join the ranks. The Cardiff producer unveils a four-track vinyl release titled ‘Time Is Of The Essence‘. Three original tracks are joined by a Liam Geddes remix to round off the labels 17th vinyl release. In the recent years that Harrison BDP has been active, he’s began to amass a serious following through his slick and raw production style. Early productions of his quickly began to draw attention from all over the place, with his 2016 track ‘Decompression‘ garnering a staggering half a million plays on Youtube.
The A-side welcomes it self with sultry pads of ‘I Still Meet You in my dreams from time to time‘, a production packed full of delight and euphoria. Spaced out synth tones, and swelling riffs convey a rich focus on emotional content in the opening track, something that Harrison delivers convincingly. A2 delves into deeper territory seeing Music Is Love‘s mainstay Liam Geddes back on remix duties taking ‘I Still Meet You in my dreams from time to time‘ on a different tangent, one which can be considered a staple of Liams sound, largely working on groovy sub bass interplay resulting in a dubbed version of the original cut.
“My Summer Lover” is a classier affair, washing away the dub of Liams remix with classic piano melodies and a beautifully put together drum pattern that clearly goes to demonstrate the breadth of Harrison’s production dexterity; clever samples, enslaving bass lines and fluttering elements keep the track interesting. The curtain call of the release is Harrison BDP’s therapeutic “Time Is Of The Essence“, the restorative sounds of the gentle and airy synths alongside his authentic drums make this the perfect track to drift off with.
Vinyl editions of Harrison BDP’s ‘Time is of the Essence‘ is available via Juno.
