Returning back to familar territory, George Smeddles releases the three-track ‘Hard To Find’ EP on his own imprint, Resonance Records.
George Smeddles invites Jimmy D and Ying Yang to inject their own creative juices into the mix as well as inviting label co-owner, Max Chapman to bring his flare to the self-titled track. ‘Hard To Find’ well and truly rounds off a fierce summer of dance music for George and the label and keeps the fire burning well into the Autumn weeks. George has been a very busy artist of late with key note releases on the likes of Toolroom, Jump Digital and Daylight Robbery. His music has attracted interest from some of the biggest players in the game such as Kerri Chandler, Darius Syrossian and Mark Knight.
Not too long back we caught up with George Smeddles at Max’s very own Swing Sundays event and we can confirm he’s an artist full of great ideas. The title track of the release, ‘Hard To Find‘ instantly wraps itself around the listener with it’s addictive vocal hook and enterprising bassline. Flittering hi-hats and an easy flowing nature allows other intricate details like the subtle and wondrous synth tones to shine throughout the track. A production full of groove and funk; an instant approval rating from us.

The second track collaboration from George Smeddles is with Ying Yang. The pair have produced a track titled ‘Club Control‘, a slightly more adventurous cut that opts to play out progressively, teasing a tribal groove that’s got more than enough nous to whip up a frienzy and.. control the club!

The final track of the release, and certainly by no means least is Max Chapmans‘ reintepretation of Georges’ ‘Hard To Find‘. The Essex DJ has been on a rising trajectory in recent years with big releases on various underground labels, most recently on Hot Creations with ‘La Fiesta‘ now entering its’ ffth week at overall #1 spot on Beatport. Max adds his signature energy with a bassline that oozes class yet seamlessly rolls under the chunky drums his rework presents. A winning take on a track that already does itself justice in the original.
