Following on from his single release on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records, Kaz James lays out the five tracks that are doing the business in his sets.
An artist from Australia and of both Italian and Greek descent, Kaz James is hot property in the world of dance music right now. Having grown up in Melbourne, Kaz was quick to take inspiration from his stepfathers diverse record collection, which spanned across a multitude of genres such as Jazz, house and funk – with time and some inspiring Carl Cox sets – Kaz James’ music career launched into action. Starting out as a resident at One Love Records, back in his native Australia, performing, producing and remixing, Kaz completed a bootleg of Eurythmics ‘Sweet Dreams‘ which filtered through to Pete Tong and Eric Morillo, who gave both Kaz James and his track exposure that was duly deserved.
Since his late teens Kaz has frequented Ibiza and having been selected by Nic Fanciulli to be resident for his ‘We Are The Night‘ parties at Pacha, he’s been gone from strength to strength in his formative years. Fast forward to this year, Kaz has already performed around the world at some of the biggest underground parties, the most recent being The BPM Festival’s debut in Portugal only last week.
His latest single, ‘Trip The Light‘ is already proving to be a towering success; described as a Balearic string-led anthem, the single lands on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records and is sure to be causing carnage towards the tail end of this years’ season. The highly rated Australian has kindly nominated five tracks that complete his recent sets on the dance floor and the selection includes music from some fantastic artists such as Yousef and Bicep.

1. Bicep – Glue
“Really love this record, they’ve smashed it with their debut album. I’ve been playing this a lot recently and it works nicely towards the end of the night with its emotional melody.”
2. Tonis Rios – Moon Blues (M.in Without Acid Remix)
“This is another track that I’ve been playing all summer. It’s a super cool tune that really goes off when the vocals come in, gets the crowd singing every time.”
3. Matthias Meyer – Infinity
“My bro Guy Gerber showed me this track – it’s really well arranged. It has this loopy, hypnotic melody that gets you in trance and suddenly it drops, it’s a journey.”
4. DJ Hell – Car Car Car (Phil Kieran’s Autobahn Remix)
“This is a super cool remix, really takes you back to the 80s. It’s a slow burner but the chugging rhythm keeps you going. “
5. Yousef – Life Is Too Short
“This is a really cool record from my mate Yousef. It’s been a favourite at Scorpios Mykonos this summer. It builds into this incredible piano melody that takes people by surprise.”
